What, if anything, do you believe we owe the world? Why?

Posted on Apr 25th, 2007 by Robert : Educator, Inventor Robert
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for April 25, 2007:

Civility and patience to our fellow human beings...plain and simple that's the least we can do to share this world we all live in. It is no more my world than the person next to me: -no matter what I do for a living -how old I am -what country I am from -what my religion is -what color I am -or how much money I have Share it....there's enough to go around and it's a much better place when you do.

How can you get paid to do what you love?

Posted on Apr 18th, 2007 by Robert : Educator, Inventor Robert
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for April 18, 2007:

I just came from coaching a girls soccer practice and as I was traveling home I thought to myself, wow.....I actually get paid to do this. There is no better high then teaching children, whether it be education or athletics to see the enjoyment on their faces when it clicks it the best feeling anyone can receive. I have the best job and it's amazing that I get paid to do what I do.

What's your favorite poem? Why?

Posted on Apr 17th, 2007 by Robert : Educator, Inventor Robert
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for April 17, 2007:

Robert Frost: The Road Not Taken (1915) Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth. Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same. And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-- I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.

What's your greatest fear?

Posted on Apr 16th, 2007 by Robert : Educator, Inventor Robert
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for April 15, 2007:

So Much So Fast Frontline (which is one of the best news programs on today) had a story about Stephen Heywood who has ALS and how his brother Jamie was trying to find a cure for him. The documentary is over a four year period, starting at the beginning when Stephen was just diagnosed with ALS. To watch the deterioration of his motor skills and how dependent he becomes on other people is heart wrenching. He finds out that he has ALS and then gets married and has a baby. The irony is that his motor skills become less and less as his baby's becomes more and more. And to see him locked in his wheel chair and not able to hold his child or talk to him or even to see him grow up is something I would never like for anyone to EVER have to experience. A VERY POWERFUL MOVIE! The other irony of the story is that he didn't die of ALS but because his respirator became unattached in the middle of the night, he suffocated to death.

The first 5000 Wallets

Posted on Apr 15th, 2007 by Robert : Educator, Inventor Robert
Well I've made my first sale of 5000 wallets to a promotional company in Canada. All this hard work has finally come to the point of fruition. It is only the first step of hopefully many more. An idea that started 2 years ago and after lots of crazy meetings with lots of crazy people I finally have a product that I can stand by and sell will confidence. Take a look! www.ramcorpllc.com

How old do you feel?

Posted on Apr 14th, 2007 by Robert : Educator, Inventor Robert
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for April 12, 2007:

I love this question because I've always felt that I was younger in my soul than I was in actual age. Like dogs and their age where they get 7 times older than we do, I feel that I get old 2 times less. I've always had energy (and I don't drink Coffee!) Whether it was getting up at 6 am even on weekends and my drive to be ACTIVE! I think that it comes with the want to wake up and experience the world. There is so much out there for us to learn about and you should take advantage of the time we have in this wonderful world. So I feel VERY YOUNG!

Skinit.com. Zaadz, and RAM Corp

Posted on Apr 12th, 2007 by Robert : Educator, Inventor Robert
Well I've moved forward with Skinit.com and they are producing sample skins for my wallet. The awesome thing is that I was able to get the Zaadz logo and they will be my first sample! I can't wait to send them to Brian and hopefully they are what he is looking for. While I was in Florida, I sent out over 150 promotional wallets to surf, skate, and snowboard companies. With the help of my family it went pretty quickly. It's funny when you hear about start up companies doing their work from the garage, well I'm here to tell you it really does work that way. Wish me luck!

Florida and Back

Posted on Apr 12th, 2007 by Robert : Educator, Inventor Robert
Traveled to Florida for the Easter Break and what was supposed to be a relaxing week on the beach with the kids ended up being a rainy and cold adventure that was contained in a house. The weather broke for us on the last day and for the most part it was relaxing. We checked out the Fountain of Youth in St. Augustine and I got to play a round of golf at Sawgrass Country Club where they will be holding the Players Championship in about 25 days.

Surf Companies and Black Dog

Posted on Apr 7th, 2007 by Robert : Educator, Inventor Robert
Well, I've made some progress with the wallet. I initially started off by emailing every surf shop in Australia and New Zealand and got some responses but nothing that panned out. I then started centering my efforts towards the US. It's funny how you can live in Southern California for the past 12 years and not know that it's the capital of the surf clothing manufacturing. Just about every BIG name surf designer is located in a 50 mile radius of Newport Beach California. I was lucky to have my next door neighbor give me a magazine named ASR which lists all of the big designers and their address along with an email and contact person, so I sent out 250 emails this weekend. As I said earlier I did get some interest that has a connection with Black Dog and Corner 5. I hope that they will follow up with my emails. I also have been able to contact Skinit, a company that designs "skins" for accessories. We too are talking about creating a unique skin for my wallet, which will allow me to put advertisements on the front and back of my wallet. Skins are cleaner and more cost effective. The logos used to be done with a pad printer but that method is only economical if you do it in bulk orders. Skin costs the same whether you print one or one hundred thousand. The cost are in the material and the setup (which is a one time deal, to set up the die cut). Just a couple of my thoughts on business life. Please share my website www.ramcorpllc.com to anyone and eveyone out there. Thanks, Rob
